the shag edits return on roots for bloom with volume 5. label boss jamie trench starts things off with where the party at which reaches in to a hip hop flavour with that 90s sample feel. reece johnson rounds off the a side with a disco style cut that will bring the boogie to any floor. the b side sees the label welcome more newcomers in bristols j.morrison and the mysterious g.markus. brown eyes sees that 70s style funk brought to the table and bing! is a more house affair with a rolling feel to it.

for their first collaborative effort, the outside agency and n-vitral have teamed up to deliver an intense sonic barrage that can only be described as the sound of an entire fleet of jet fighters taking off with kickdrums playing on top of it. the first track, sams gospel, is fierce and relentless while the second track, the ultimate hunter, is relentless and fierce. in summary: this is the musical equivalent of airplanes taking off and you need it.

a fifth edition of the mosaic split series arrives, pairing up productions from anne errez and clandestine, the production duo consisting of uk house/techno mainstays, neville watson and justin peace division drake. errez, of course, featured on the previous edition of this series and it s clear the leeds-based artist has made an impression on steve o sullivan with her tough stabs and dub flecked groove of * discovery inn* a perfect fit for mosaic. complementing this, the clandestine project looks to be a most promising endeavour for watson and drake on the basis of their two searing contributions with the urgent machine funk flex of * slave to the system* a proper highlight.
